Am ersten Tag in der Gemeinde Keko geht es zum ersten Ausglug. Nach offiziellem Termin fahren wir nach Bagamojo am Infischen Ozean. Zur Mittagspause während der längeren Autofahrt hat Neema selbstgemachte Mandazi mitgebracht. Mandazi erinnern mich an Kreppelchen. Die gab es früher zu Hause. Ich frage meine Mama nach dem Rezept und zeige es Neema. Sie nickt und sagt: Nearly the same. Gutes ist halt international!
Swapping Recipes
On the first day in the Keko community, we head out for our first excursion.
After the official appointment, we drive to Bagamoyo on the Indian Ocean.
During the lunch break on the long car ride, Neema brings homemade mandazi.
Mandazi remind me of little doughnuts we used to have at home.
I ask my mom for the recipe and show it to Neema.
She nods and says, “Nearly the same.”
Good things are simply international!
